Summary
Bordering on the Conkers visitor attraction in the National Forest, Moira Junction is a 3.5-hectare local nature reserve, managed by Leicestershire County Council. The site is part of the former Overseal railway sidings, which closed in the World Cup-winning year of 1966, and has now seen its railway cuttings and embankments regenerated naturally. The site has two lakes, birch woodland and heath grassland. It is accessible via Conkers and the Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail.
